Together for over 15 years, BossaCucaNova is a group that combines the Brazilian sounds of bossa nova and expertly combines them with electronica. The group was co-founded by Márcio Menesca the son of bossa pioneer Roberto Menescal,along with DJ Marcelinho DaLua and record producer/sound engineer Alex Moreira. Over over the years has consisted of a number of class musicians with the current selection together for a decade now. They’re work has consisted of 7 albums including a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album in 2002.

Their latest release Our Kind of Bossa has been to number one on the iTunes world music chart and featured renowned Brazilian artists such as Maria Rita, MPB band Os Cariocas and the late Oscar Castro Neves. The band has been on tour in the United States with shows in Florida and California. They have up coming shows on Tuesday, October 28 & Wednesday, October 29 at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley in Seattle, WA.
To celebrate their tour and the success of their recent album the group along with Six Degrees Records have decided to digitally re-release the catalog of the groups work including the 2002 Latin Grammy nominated Brasilidade.
