Blessed with academic aptitude and natural beauty, music was not a last resort but her genuine life interest. She was first discovered by the masses in 2004 on MTV Phillipines’ show :MTV Supahstar: D’ Super Sear”ch where she was an eventual winner.
Two year later she released her debut, “Café Boss“, an album comprised of bossa nova classics and original songs. Despite being virtually the only bossa nova entry in a market decidedly dominated by pop, her album was a commercial success being certified double platinum, gaining international attention and spawning successful single such as “Tattooed on My Mind” and “Para Sa kin”.
Her next album “My Bossa Nova” attained gold status and featured covers of songs from various genres done in bossa nova style. The following year she released a Christmas album that quickly became platinum certified. In 2009 she released her 4th album “Contagious”. Another commercial success that represented a return to performing traditional bossa nova songs.
Her smooth and tender voice combined with continued album success and live concerts have all culminated in her being widely regarded as the “Philippines queen of Bossa Nova.” A well-deserved title.
