Hotel Bossa Nova releases new album entitled “Na Meia Luz”
German band Hotel Bossa Nova have released their 4th album “Na Meia Luz.” Lead by Portuguese-Indian singer Liza da Costa and accompanied by band members Wolfgang Stamm(drums), Alexander Sonntag(bass) and Tilmann Hohn(guitar) the group blends bossa nova with samba, American jazz , flamenco along with other exotic musical forms.
Love and Loss
Consisting of nine original compositions the album tackles the themes of love, loss and the idea of freedom. For the album Hotel Bossa Nova focused on the the quality of arrangement and instrumentation for each song, which is particularly evident as this is the first Hotel Bossa Nova album recorded completely with live instruments.Tracks include the likes of “Rapidamente” which describes the ordeal involved with the ending of a relationship.
The album takes influences from pioneers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joao Gilberto, paying homage to the harmonic styles developed by the two in the late 1950s. Described as one for the lovers the album promises to enchant and entertain.
