As carnival in Brazil continues, the tributes to Vinicius De Moraes carry on. Throughout his career the musician and poet made several iconic works of art and probably his most renowned work is “The Girl from Ipanema,” which he wrote the original lyrics to.
It would seem fitting that the “girl who inspired the song would pay tribute to the legend and she did in a swimsuit that was quite fitting itself. At age 68 Helo Pinheiro is no longer the young girl that captivated De Moraes and Antonio Carlos Jobim, but none the less, she felt quite comfortable sporting a flamboyant, gold, one-piece swim suit, complete with a glittering cape embroidered with the images of shells.
She explained that “Anything goes to honor Vinicius,” and though she may not be young she still is tall, tan and lovely. We believe Vinicius would have approved.
